What is Big Fish Backup?

Big Fish Backup is a fully managed data backup service which means that once installed, the end user does not have to lift a finger for it to work!

What is IDrive 360?

IDrive 360 is a cloud-based online backup system that is the engine behind our Big Fish Backup service. It replaces our in-house developed app installed on your computers with a cloud-based, light-weight app. The IDrive 360 app is used to facilitate the online backups between your computers and the cloud.

Do I have to install IDrive 360?

Yes. IDrive 360, as the engine behind our backup service is a requirement for using the service.

Do I have to use Big Fish Backup?

No, but you should! Big Fish Backup is a complimentary service for our customers. So, there’s no cost to you! And the installation, management, and monitoring, as well as support is easy and included in your monthly support subscription. You get peace of mind knowing your precious data is safe and sound!

I received an email from Big Fish Technology to install IDrive 360. What should I do?

Big Fish Technology is retiring the in-house developed app that powers the service with IDrive 360. Changes in the online backup industry and changes in technology created an opportunity to bring top-drawer online data backups superior to our in-house developed app. It was no contest and a no-brainer decision!

To take advantage of this change, follow all of the instructions in the email you received from us. If you have any questions, please reach out to our support team.

How do I install IDrive 360?

You should have received an email from Big Fish Technology with lots of information about the changes coming to Big Fish Backup. There is a link in that email to download IDrive 360. Click that link to download and install IDrive 360. If you did not receive that email or cannot find it, please reach out to our support team.

A pop-up window about User Account Control appeared. What do I do?

Having a User Account Control (UAC) window appear when making changes to your computer is normal. The UAC window asks, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” You should click the Yes button. If you have any questions, please reach out to our support team.
